If you live in Los Angeles, you’ve probably heard of Father’s Office. The popular bar and restaurant is well known for refusing to put ketchup on their gourmet burgers, which have been called the best in the world.
With a background working for Joël Robuchon and Alain Ducasse, chef Yang Soon knows a thing or two about fine dining.
Recently, the Wall Street Journal had a chat with Chef Soon about his inspiration and some of his favorite things. Soon is a big fan of chef Thomas Keller’s line of dinnerware for Raynaud:
“Beautiful china is like an artist’s canvas, so I have nice canvases—Bernardaud china, and these Raynaud Limoges dishes designed by Thomas Keller. Stuff like this is really inspiring to me.”
Keller’s Hommage and Checks dinnerware is a favorite of chefs because it is specially designed to show off the beauty of the food. Used at Keller’s Per Se and French Laundry restaurants, the white Limoges porcelain pieces have extra-wide rims and are safe to use in the microwave and dishwasher.
