Easy Ways to Dress Up Your Tables: The Table Runner

Because home decorating and entertaining are fairly new to me, and because I have a new husband/family to impress, I’ve learned a few tricks of the trade along the way that I think are worth sharing.  The most important lesson I’ve learned when it comes to entertaining is learning to fake it.  Wouldn’t it be lovely to have all the time in the world to press the linens, whip up a gourmet meal, and serve every dining victory on handcrafted china?  Sure it would – but I don’t always have the time to put together the five star look, though I do strive for a bit of pizzazz.

Table linens are beautiful, but I tend to reserve them for the more formal or special events in my home.  Thus my love for table runners.  Table runners are linens, simplified, and made to work with everything.  Table runners come in every color, pattern, and length, and can quickly dress up the center of your dining table, sideboard, liquor cabinet, and console table.

Kim Seybert has the most beautiful table runners, napkins, napkin rings, and placemats – all simple add-ons to a table in need of decorating.  Seybert also makes it easy for the novice buyer, offering pieces in collections so that everything works together.

For an everyday runner (with a bit of pizzazz – it’s completely beaded), this Coral Beaded Table Runner is a home run.
