Do you love graphic, contemporary designs that are practical enough for everyday use? Then you’ll love Caskata, artist Shawn Laughlin’s new line of contemporary dinner and servingware.
Named for the place ‘where the bay meets the ocean’, Caskata specializes in designs that fuse a modern, graphic sensibility with traditional New England themes like sea life and lobster bakes.
Nate Berkus loves her pieces so much, he recently had her on his show:
Caskata’s plates, bowls and vases are made from fine bone china and white porcelain. Each piece is decorated by hand in Ohio, and they are dishwasher and microwave safe (except for items with metallic decoration).
Here are a few of our favorite pieces. For sea lovers, there’s Blue Lucy (the octopus) …
and Swordfish …
A native of New York City, Shawn’s work reflects a pared-down urban sophistication and the inspiration she finds in the picturesque New England landscapes which surround her studio, like these Gold Rabbits and Nasturtiums:
And here’s her newest, inspired by the Chinese Year of the Dragon:
Caskata products make wonderful gifts, and every order is shipped in a beautiful keepsake gift box. To see the whole collection, click here.
