Tracing back to the 1920’s, Rodda Candy Company began producing marshmallows shaped as chicks, coated in vibrantly colored sugar. Originally produced as a treat exclusive to Easter, the chicks were first meant to be a symbol of new life, a concept often associated with springtime. After being acquired by Just Born Candy Company in the 1950’s, the once seasonal sweet treat was able to be mass produced and quickly became a favorite all around the world.
