The Brooklyn design scene is edgy and experimental. Whether living in an industrial loft or a sophisticated brownstone, Brooklynites share an appreciation for open floor plans, eclectic furniture, vintage treasures, and eco-friendly elements (recycling is key.) Graphic patterns, reclaimed materials, dark hues, and quirky accessories are decorating staples. More playful than its Manhattan counterpart, Brooklyn's design sensibility is comfortable, raw, and even ironic, but always conscious of its looks.
