Inspired by the timeless elegance of the pearl, each piece in L’Objet’s Perlee collection is hand-gilded with three layers of 24 kt gold or platinum. Each piece is hand-crafted from Limoges porcelain with a raised border of pearl shapes.
Making Perlee is quite an intricate process. L’Objet’s Elad Yifrach explains:
The first step involves very complicated, highly detailed model making, from which we create the Limoges porcelain cast. At that point, each item is then painstakingly gilded – by hand – with 24kt gold or platinum. This remarkable process…is truly an art. And it takes time – ranging from two hours to paint a single dessert plate… to seven hours for our large vertical bowl!

You can watch a clip of this painstaking process in this video from L’Objet:
Each piece of Perlee dinnerware is truly a work of art. It’s available in four colors: white, gold, platinum, and blue.
L’Objet’s jewel-like gold and platinum tableware, gift and decor pieces make us swoon. We love them all so much it’s hard to decide on a favorite – the Evoca candlesticks? Or maybe the adorable bird napkin rings? We were curious which L’Objet products were the designer’s favorites.
In a recent post on his own blog, designer Elad Yifrach revealed his top pick for L’Objet products:
Well, of course, I love all our pieces… but I’ve found one collection to be universally appreciated – our frames. We have such a variety, so its easy to address the different tastes of the many people I call family. And I designed all our frames as heirloom pieces – each is plated in platinum and finished and polished by hand, much like fine jewelry (so you never have to polish them).

We agree, the L’Objet picture frames are just great. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and they make wonderful gifts.
I spend a lot of time at my desk, so I really appreciate a well-designed set of desk accessories. There’s absolutely no reason why office tools can’t be fashionable – work is so much more of a pleasure when you’re surrounded with beautiful objects. Of course, they need to be useful, too. L’Objet’s crocodile desk collection is both. Made from Limoges porcelain with a matte black finish, all of the pieces look and feel so elegant. But did you know it was all inspired by a candle?
The crocodile candle was a big hit as soon as it was introduced. Based on the candle’s success, designer Elad Yifrach decided to expand it into an entire line of desk accessories. In his own words:
Even in an age when the desktop has gone digital, I think there is something very special about having a beautiful, hand-crafted desk set. Featuring the same sculpted porcelain and black matte ink that made the candle so popular, each of the desk items will also be wonderfully textured, and accented with 24K gold. I think the result is timeless and elegant, and, as is so often the case with universally appealing design, totally gender neutral.
The collection includes boxes, a tray, and a magnifying glass. And of course, the original crocodile candle deserves a place on the desk as well.
We love learning about what inspires our artists to create the pieces they do. Here is what L’Objet’s Elad Yifrach said recently about blue and white, and his inspiration for the Perlee Blue dinnerware collection:
Last year I was fortunate enough to sail from Turkey to Greece with a group of dear friends. We called it our own “Blue Voyage”, a time-honored journey across the Aegean originated by the Turkish painter and author Cevat Şakir Kabaağaç, who explored the same waters in the early 1900’s.
The journey on a Turkish gulet (those lovely, double-mast wooden schooners) was an experience I will never forget. The images are indelible: azure waters juxtaposed against the pastoral Mediterranean coastline… The warm nights, with stars scattered across the sky like diamonds on indigo velvet… Gentle, hazy mornings, waking to the sound of the waves… And, of course, the fresh, vibrant Mediterranean food!

Although Perlee Blue was inspired by Elad’s trip to the Mediterranean, we love that it feels so right for us to use it in California. We love blue and white, and the strong colors in this collection make it perfect for dining outdoors.

Charlotte Moss designed a master suite for the 2012 Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse. Following her signature style, she was inspired by the tranquility of a garden setting.
Isn’t the green soothing? The colors and patterns in the room remind us of her dinnerware patterns, also inspired by Southern garden elegance:

Do you love the way it feels when you walk into the Ralph Lauren store and everything is organized just so? How the clothes just hang beautifully, and it always smells clean and inviting? I do.
And although we can’t all move into a boutique on Madison or Rodeo, you can easily recreate the look at home. With a few simple steps, your closet can feel extraordinary and your clothes can look as good as the day when you first purchased them.
– Organize everything by color and season.
– Invest in a good set of hangers. Not only will they help keep the shape of your clothes, they will also instantly upgrade your closet. There are wood hangers to fit every style: dark stained woods for an English paneled feel (Ralph Lauren), light blond woods for a natural look (Calypso St Barth), painted black for a modern look (Tom Ford), and painted white for a clean, minimalist look (Calvin Klein). Dry cleaning hangers are meant to be temporary.
– Outfit your drawers, shelves, and hangers with delicately scented liners to naturally protect your clothes from pests.
– Treat stains as they appear. The sooner you do this, the easier it will be to remove them.
– Sort your laundry properly. You know what goes where, so make this a breeze by placing a simple set of bags nearby.
– Place a small chair or bench nearby. You’ll need this to put on your shoes, and it will make make your closet feel like a dressing room.
– Add a light scent. A diffuser is a great way to make your closet feel fresh and inviting.
And finally, a fresh flower arrangement!
