Whenever I feel the need for a little pick-me-up, I daydream about travel.  For me, traveling is the ultimate indulgence – the chance to unwind while I visit new places and meet new people.  But the most important thing for me is the chance to visit new hotels.

I really appreciate what goes into putting a great hotel together.  I understand that someone had to combine a design directive (what is the overall theme?  how do we want our guests to feel?  how should the hotel relate to the city?) with an endless list of practical considerations (how do we ensure security is tight?  where can guests meet for after-dinner drinks? are our vegetarian meals appetizing?) while at the same time meeting a budget, and this is nothing short of incredible to me.

Apparently I’ve found a kindred spirit.  There’s a fantastic new blog called “Hotel Chic.”  Written by Sara Bliss, it’s exactly the kind of conversation I want to have after visiting a great hotel.  Sara is passionate about interiors, and her blog is full of tips on how to bring the look home.  So if you’ve ever wondered how you could bring a piece of Santorini or Paris home, click here to read her blog.
